Presentation Instructions

The following presentation instructions are applied to all accepted regular papers, short papers, industry papers, demo papers, and workshop papers. All authors please follow the corresponding instructions to prepare the presentation for your papers. (Last update at Monday Sep 2 11:00:00 IST 2019)

Regular/Industry papers

  • Please first confirm your paper in the oral session and the poster session.
  • Each regular paper, including the best paper candidates in the best paper session (Session 2), and general regular/industry paper sessions (Sessions 3, 7, 8, and 12), will be presented in an oral presentation.
  • Each presentation will be allotted totally 22 minutes, including 5 minutes for Q&A.
  • One best paper award winner and one best student paper award winner will be selected in the best paper candidates’ session and announced in the award ceremony session during the banquet on September 12 (Thursday).
  • We additionally request each regular paper authors to present their work as a poster during the 3-day conference, as well as in the poster session (core time) on September 12 during session 10-A from 16:30 to 17:30, in order to foster further interactive discussions, in addition to the time limited oral presentations. Please see the instructions for poster presentations below.

Short papers

  • Please first confirm your paper in the oral session and the poster session.
  • Each short paper in Session 9-A, 9-B, and 9-C will be presented in an oral presentation.
  • Each presentation will be allotted totally 17 minutes, including 2 minutes for Q&A.
  • We additionally request each short paper authors to present their work as a poster during the 3-day conference, as well as in the poster session (core time) on September 12 during session 10-A from 16:30 to 17:30, in order to foster further interactive discussions, in addition to the time limited oral presentations. Please see the instructions for poster presentations below.

Invited papers

  • Please first confirm your paper in the oral session.
  • Each invited paper will be presented in an oral presentation during Sessions 4-A, 4-B, 14-A, and 14-C.
  • Each presentation will be allotted totally 30 minutes, including 5 minutes for Q&A.

Demo papers

  • Please first confirm your paper in the demo session.
  • Each demo paper will be presented during Session 10-B in a poster session.
  • Duration of the demonstration is 1 hour, from 16:30 to 17:30.
  • We additionally request each demo paper authors to present their work as a poster during the 3-day conference, as well as in the demo session (core time) on September 12 during session 10-B from 16:30 to 17:30, in order to foster further interactive discussions, in addition to the time limited oral presentations. Please see the instructions for poster presentations below.

Poster preparation

  • Each full and short paper has to be presented as a poster in Poster session (core time) on September 12 during session 10-B from 16:30 to 17:30. Thus, please confirm the date and time for the presentation.
  • Demo and industry papers are welcome to optionally do poster presentation (poster boards will be provided on request).
  • The poster should be printed and brought to the conference by the authors themselves. The size of a poster should be vertical A1 (NOT A0, please take care).
  • The core time of the poster session will be allotted totally 60 minutes, including the time for setup. We suggest the authors to prepare their poster 5 minutes before the poster session, or use your free time to setup the poster during other oral sessions on the whole day. We strongly recommend authors to setup their posters at the beginning of the conference so that they can be showcased during the 3-day conference.

Workshop papers

  • Each workshop paper will be presented in an oral presentation.
  • Each presentation will be allotted totally 17 minutes for regular papers including 2 minutes for Q&A.

Information for oral presentations

  • All oral session rooms are equipped with data projectors with a standard VGA and HDMI connector. We encourage speakers to bring and use their own laptops or other presentation devices. Please check the compatibility of your laptop and the project before the session starts. If you plan to use non-VGA and non-HDMI connecting devices, please do bring a VGA/HDMI adapter to connect to the projector.
  • We will try our best to provide powerpoint laser pointers or slide changers, but if you have your own please bring it along.
  • During the break time before your presentation, please go to the scheduled room to meet the session chair to confirm the title and presenter information of your paper.
  • Time will be strictly enforced by session chairs and all the presenters are expected to make sure that their presentations fit strictly within the time limit and that the switching to another presentation is done during the Q&A.
  • If special equipment is required, please contact the local arrangement chair (Dr. Yifang Yin) in advance.
  • Please make sure that presentations would also work if the free wireless connection is limited or not available.

Information for poster presentations

  • The poster boards are vertical, so please prepare your poster in size A1 with portrait mode. Smaller is of course possible as well. The conference will supply pushpins to hang your poster on the board.
  • All posters will be showcased during the 3-day conference, and with core time on September 12 during Sessions 10-A and 10-B. Please confirm the date and time when your poster will be presented.
  • For poster presentations, at least one author must be at your poster board during the core time of poster session. During this time, expert attendees may ask questions about your work, in the other time slot you can freely wander around to see the other posters.
  • Setup time for poster session is 5 minutes before the session time. If the session room is available longer before the session time, you can freely set up your poster in advance during the 3-day conference.
  • You are encouraged to prepare handouts of your poster for attendees.
